The short version

Sensory-Friendly Kids is a free, static information site. There are no accounts to create and nothing to log in to. We don't sell your data and we don't build advertising profiles about you.

What we collect

Browsing the directory doesn't require you to give us anything — no name, email, or address is needed to read a page.

We use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless tool, to count visits — which pages are popular and roughly where traffic comes from. It does not use analytics cookies or track visitors across different sites. Vercel also hosts this site and processes requests to deliver its pages. See Vercel’s analytics privacy explanation.

The "find near you" search

On the search page you can sort listings by distance in one of two ways, and both happen in your browser:

• • Zip / postal code: to turn a zip or postal code into an approximate location, your browser sends just that code to a third-party lookup service (Zippopotam.us). We don't store it.
• • "Use my location": your browser asks your permission and uses your device location only to sort the list. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us.

Links, ads & affiliates

Every listing links to the venue's own website and the source we used. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control. Our Sensory gear page uses Amazon affiliate links: if you buy something after clicking one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We disclose this on that page, and it never changes which places we list or how they're ranked.

We use Google AdSense code on eligible content pages. Ads can appear only when Google approves the site and enables serving. Our printable outing planner and search results do not load advertising code. Google's consent message gives visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland choices to consent, decline, or manage their options. Where available, use the privacy and cookie settings link to revisit those choices. Google advertising can use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers to deliver and measure ads, and third parties may read or place cookies. Email updates

If you use an email signup form, your email address is sent to Kit (formerly ConvertKit) to manage subscriptions and deliver updates. Subscribing is optional. You can unsubscribe using the link in an email or contact us to request removal. Kit processes data according to its privacy policy.

Outing planner

The outing planner keeps your typed notes in the current page only. It does not send them to us or store them in browser storage, and the planner page does not load analytics or ad scripts. Copying uses your device clipboard; printing or saving a PDF uses your browser. You choose where to keep or share that copy. Closing the page discards the entries.

Maps

City maps load map tiles from OpenStreetMap when they come into view. Your browser sends tile requests, including its IP address and requested map area, to that provider. See OpenStreetMap Foundation’s privacy policy.

Children's privacy

This site is written for parents and caregivers. It isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from them.

Sensory-Friendly Kids shares practical planning and source-based information — it is not medical, legal, or professional advice, and we are not medical professionals.

Listings are documented from official and recognized sources and marked with the date they were checked, but programs, hours, prices, and accommodations change often. We can't guarantee every detail is current, or that a place will meet your child's specific needs. Always confirm the details — especially sensory hours and relaxed-performance dates — directly with the venue before you go. Use of this site is at your own discretion, and we aren't liable for decisions made based on it.
