About Sensory-Friendly Kids
Sensory-Friendly Kids is a directory of sensory-friendly and autism-friendly places and services for children. We started it for a simple reason: finding out whether somewhere will work for a sensory-sensitive child is far harder than it should be. The details that matter — whether the lights can be dimmed, whether staff are patient, whether there's a quieter time of day — are rarely on a business's website, and they're exactly what we collect here.
Who's behind it
This project is run by me, Alex — a parent and caregiver who has spent years figuring out which places work and which don't. I'm not a medical professional and nothing here is medical advice — I'm sharing practical, lived-experience information so other families can spend less time guessing.
What we cover
We organize places by category and by city. Our first category is sensory-friendly haircuts, and we're expanding into museums, indoor play gyms, sensory-friendly seasonal events, and more. A city only appears once we have enough verified listings to make the page genuinely useful, so you won't land on a near-empty page.
How we keep it accurate
Every listing is checked against a written standard, and each one shows the date it was last verified. We re-check listings periodically because hours, staff, and accommodations change. You can read exactly how we do this on our How We Verify page.
Help us improve a listing
If something here is out of date, or you know a great place we've missed, please tell us — corrections from families are one of our most valuable sources. Email us at info@sensoryfriendly.guide .
